The Next Phase of Required Material Information in Property Listings
With the publication by National Trading Standards on 30th November 2023 of their new guidance for estate agents, “Material Information In Property Listings (Sales)”, the need for collaboration between estate agents and conveyancers may never have been greater. While the guidance is not yet mandatory, NTS states that it is intended to help agents comply with their existing requirements under the Consumer Protection from Unfair Regulations 2008 and that all new listings should include Part A, B, and C information.
The information required heralds a potential return to something akin to HIPs (Home Information Packs) for those as old as us who remember them! Upfront information is a progressive solution for improving the overall house-moving experience.
We anticipate that the provision of Part C information will likely require input from conveyancers.
