Team enter triathlon for second year running

In September 2013 a team from Warner Goodman LLP entered the firm’s first ever triathlon, the Rose Road Triathlon, and had incredible fundraising success almost doubling their target.  Howard Robson, Employment Partner and also team member from last year, here explains why they’re taking part again this year.

“As a firm we’re keen supporters of sporting and charitable events,” begins Howard.  “This year we’re not only taking part in the Rose Road Triathlon, but we also have a member of staff doing her first abseil for charity, we have a team entered in Tough Mudder and we have runners in the Great South Run.  The sense of achievement we had last year from taking part in our first triathlon spurred us on to take part again this year, and see if we can beat the amount we raised to help the Rose Road Association even more.”

The Rose Road Association has for over 60 years been providing valuable short break services and activities to disabled children and young people to improve their quality of life. They currently support over 400 young people with a variety of short breaks including overnight respite, community outreach sessions and wonderful playschemes. Activities that the children benefit from include swimming, music, cookery, arts and crafts, and day trips to local attractions.

Howard concludes, “Our target last year was to raise over £400 for the Rose Road Association and we managed to raise just over £750.  This year our target is again £400, but we will be pushing to once again at least double that, not only for our own personal goal but also as we know the funds we raise will be going to such a fantastic local charity,  which helps children and families face their own challenges every day.”
