New Solicitor extends commercial offering at Warner Goodman

Our Commercial division have expanded their expertise in their support for businesses with the introduction of Naushad Rahman. 

Working alongside her colleagues in the Commercial team is Naushad Rahman, Assistant Solicitor in the Company Commercial department.  Naushad brings to the firm many years experience of working with all sizes of business on complex commercial matters as well as more common issues faced on a day to day basis.  She specialises in acquisitions, joint ventures and mergers but can also offer businesses advice on documentation such as shareholders’ agreements.

Speaking of the new appointment, Claire Battye, Head of Commercial Property, commented, “It is important as a commercial team that we work together to offer our clients a complete service, whether that is supporting them move to a new premises, expand their business or with their employees.   Forging closer relationships with our colleagues across our Commercial divisions through the introduction of Naushad is a wonderful opportunity for us and our clients to continue to grow.”

Meet the Commercial Property team

Since her arrival earlier this year, Naushad has been working on several projects with the Commercial Property team in Portsmouth.

Claire Battye leads the team and has worked at the firm since 1998.  On her journey to becoming Partner she completed roles such as office junior, receptionist, secretary, Legal Executive, Solicitor and then Equity Partner in 2004.   She has earned an enviable reputation in the area acting for developers on high value acquisitions and disposals, particularly those of a complex nature. 

Alexandra Savage, Associate Solicitor, started as a Trainee Solicitor and joined the team permanently when she qualified in 2014.  Her skill in building excellent rapport and having a keen eye for detail makes her popular with her clients, particularly on complex property matters.

Emma Lee, Licensed Conveyancer and Associate, started with Warner Goodman as an office junior before joining the Commercial Property team in 2007.  Having worked in numerous roles, she can view matters from all perspectives; an important quality particularly for new clients who may be unsure about the process. 

Jenny Colvin, Associate, qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2010 after working as a Paralegal for six years before this.  She joined the team in April 2016 having worked for large regional firms previously and bringing with her expertise in commercial leases, sales and acquisitions and secured lending. Jenny also has experience of working with pension funds and charities.

Joe Taylor, Trainee Solicitor, joined the team in 2015 and now specialises in large scale acquisitions, commercial leases for investors and developers and complex residential transactions.
