Today marks the start of National Careers Week and tomorrow, Tuesday 8th March, will be International Women’s Day.  As a firm, we have always celebrated the success of our female employees and promoted equal opportunities for all of our staff, no matter their gender, race, background or education.  We have a culture where anyone can grow their career in the world of law, whether that is through an apprenticeship, training contract or through an alternative qualification such as CILEx.

This week we will therefore be celebrating several of the women within our business, each of them highlighting various routes into a career in the law.  We begin today with Molly Puntis who started an Apprenticeship with us in 2014, working hard while studying and is now a Paralegal within the Personal Injury team.

1). What first attracted you to a career in the law?

I was first attracted to a career in law when I studied Law at college. I had one subject left to pick for my AS levels and I chose law as a ‘filler’. I originally wanted to pursue a career in science, but I didn’t plan on being so taken with law!

2). Why did you choose the apprenticeship route?

I had taken a gap year after College and travelled to Australia. After living and working in the real world, University no longer appealed to me. I wanted to continue to learn and earn whilst doing it, so an apprenticeship was the perfect fit for me.

3). How has Warner Goodman supported you in achieving your career goals?

Warner Goodman has invested in my education right from the word ‘go.’ Since completing my Business Admin apprenticeship, Warner Goodman have supported me through a Paralegal Apprenticeship and are sponsoring me through my remaining Level 3 CILEx units (which I am currently awaiting my results for), with the aim to progress to complete Level 6.

4). What has been the highlight of your career so far?

Settling my very first Personal Injury claim was quite a thrill. I also loved being able to put ‘Paralegal’ on my email footer after passing my exams as it was proof of how far I had come from my first day.

5). Would you recommend Warner Goodman as an employer to others and why?  What aspects make us a female friendly firm?

I would recommend Warner Goodman as an employer to others because the Partners are incredibly supportive, giving opportunities for career progression. Also, everyone who works at Warner Goodman are very friendly and help is always there if you need it.
